Chapter 4 - The Marmite Chapter!

Some people absolutely adore this chapter and some people cannot understand what it is doing here - hence the Marmite Chapter. Appreciate it while it is here - it may not be here forever (see below) ! This is about the mythological ancient history of the West Country, fact, fiction, investigation.
So far you have been watching an enchanting tour of Devon and discovering its history. Now this! Ancient ceremonies, darting around the West Country, Middle East - what's going on!
In the course of making this film I developed the idea of a feature travel series - a unique one and different from Alan Whicker or Michael Palin. (see about) One of the themes of the series is to have a strong story about the area it is covering. Chapter 4 - The Ancient Mystery came out of this evolving idea. As such it seems a little different from the rest of the film. However this episode turned into a unique and enchanting film in its own right - like a fairy tale and three weeks ago I decided to make it into a separate film and it's now in the Cannes Film Festival and also some other festivals too.... Off to Cannes for its showing on May 12, exciting! consequently, it may not remain forever as part of Day's Devon. See more about it and the series in About
